9 Ways To Take Back Your Power

How can one get their power back after staying around people you know you really didn’t truly connect with for fear of being judged or excluded? Ever been afraid to speak up for yourself when you felt disrespected? Have you ever stayed too long in relationships or jobs that no longer served you? Did you ever experience a season in your life where you felt powerless? We’ll let’s get some power back with these nine ways to get your power back.

1. Set Aside Time For Self Love

  • Allow yourself time to learn about yourself
  • Draw a picture of your current self then draw a picture of who you would like to become in the future
  • Identify traits and skills within you that makes you feel powerful

2. Establish and Maintain Boundaries

  • Identify how each boundary will help you in your journey
  • Write down who and what the boundaries are for
  • Write down what you will do when boundaries are crossed
  • Remind yourself why you created each boundary

3. Let It Go

  • Let go of the person, event, and moments that no longer serve your present and future
  • Commit to small talk with individuals who do not have your best interest at heart
  • Focus your energy on preparing for the future. What are you looking forward to this year? If nothing, work with a vision board to help establish the life experiences you would like to have. Then use a planner to jot down a real timeframe to reach your vision.

4. Improve Your Self Confidence

  • Make a list of small events and challenges you would like to accomplish. It could be getting at least 8 hours of sleep consistently for a week

5. Use Affirmations

  • Create a list of affirmations that help stimulate your power source
  • Record your affirmation to playback

6. Always Have An Exit Plan
  • Begin with the end in mind to allow you to be intentional in each moment
  • Submit to the power of choice and think through your next steps. You will not feel trapped if you activate your power of choice
  • Admit when something is not for you and do not blame yourself for it. Chart your passage out
7. Practice Abundance Mindset
 
  • Allow for the answers to be revealed in time as you are open to receive your abundance
  • Detox from any people, places or habits that may distract you from your abundance mindset 
8. Get Creative
  • Get creative on what you can do to get your power back through seeking inspiration
  • Think outside the box on how you can remove your self from the powerless place you are in
  • Explore this through writing; drawing; mapping out ways get back your power 
9. Do The Opposite
  • If you are an emotional person try using more logic in your choices. Maybe you give your power away by showing too much emotion. Do the opposite.
  • So someone makes you feel small, i.e family member, coworker, supervisor, think about what it’s like to be fully in control of your power and act like it.
  • Change your routine up for a week. Instead of taking the same route to work or errands try a new path. This will help inspire new ways of thinking.
