How To Make A Vision Board In 5 Easy Steps

Vision boards are visual signposts of your deepest desires. Creating a vision board is one of the best ways to start your self love journey. Even if you are well into your self love journey it is never too late to create a vision board. There are many forms of vision boards. Some include:

  • Traditional ‘physical board’ with magazines and words
  • Online documents to hold copy and paste pictures and text
  • Sites and Apps like Pinterest; Canva to hold and create the vision board

Choose one that works best for you! Now let’s learn how to make a vision board in 5 easy steps…

1. Write Out Your Desires

Write a list of all the desires and goals you wish to accomplish. These can include all of your goals surrounding health, finances, relationships, activities, and resources. It should include some challenging goals as well as others you know you will eventually succeed in. Be specific.

2. Set A Date Of Completion

After identifying your primary goals set a date of when you wish for your vision to come true. Many people establish a yearly vision board. So the timeframe would be 12 months. If you have a long term goal it is okay for your vision board to reflect this timeframe.

3. Choose A Vision Board Method

Choose the method for creating your vision board. If you choose to create a physical vision board you will need to either gather images and words from magazines, newspapers. You can also find and create your images online and print them out.

4. Search For Images and Words

Next, search for the right images that evoke the exact feeling you want to feel when you achieve each goal. Find words that will give you inspiration and a memory of how you will feel once you receive your vision.

5. Paste and Place

Now, it’s time to paste your images and words on to your board or document. The more color the better. Place it somewhere your subconscious can see and think about through the upcoming weeks and months. It’s okay to place this vision board in a place you feel comfortable. This is your vision board, do not feel pressured to share it with others. Though some do wish to put it in a place where it is more visible.

After, you have completed your vision board and identified your goals you may want to start planning them out. It is important, to begin with the end in mind. This planner will help you achieve this.
