Affirmations are repeated words or phrases that validate your worth, reignite your faith, and lead you to your expected end. There’s a place for using affirmations in every stage of your self-love journey. Whether you speak your affirmations, write them down, listen to recorded affirmations from yourself and others, they are always beneficial. Like starting a diet that is tailored to the nutrients your body specifically needs, you can put yourself on an Affirmation Diet. 

The Affirmation Diet™

I present to you the Affirmation Diet, a diet designed specifically for your present needs that cater to your expected end. Words, like food, have the power to nourish your life and impact your future. For example, if you are struggling with using your voice around others in your family, friend, workplace, or community circle, design an affirmation diet around your voice.

Assignment #1

Identity what area you would like to create an Affirmation Diet. Ask yourself these questions to help guide your diet. For example, if you want to improve your voice.

 

  • What would I like to improve in this area?
  • Who am I doing this for?
  • What is my desired outcome?
  • What fears am I letting go of?
  • What thoughts no longer serve me regarding this topic?
  • What outcome seems like a stretch but deep down I know is possible?
  • Why am I doubting myself?
  • What tools do I need to reach my desired outcome?
  • Am I ready to let go?

 

 

Assignment #2

Use the answers to your questions to create the affirmations for your diet. 

 

My voice is improving each day.

I affirm I am confident in my voice.            

I am in tune with my voice and when and how to speak. 

I express myself effectively. 

Each day, I let go of any fears surrounding my voice.

I am practicing self-confidence, as I let go of past fears.

I refuse to let Nouns live rent-free in my head.

Today, I am reclaiming my voice. 

 

You can use this strategy in any area of your life. There is no topic or challenge big or small to write positive affirmations. You can use affirmations to help you grow in more confidence on your self-love journey daily. I use this strategy to help the community start to affirm what is authentically true each day as we all grow together on this self-love journey.
